No, previous consulting experience is not required. We welcome applicants from all academic backgrounds and value motivation, curiosity, and a willingness to learn just as much as prior experience.

The expected time commitment is approximately 5–10 hours per week. This includes team meetings, individual work, and any preparation needed for project deliverables. We aim to keep the workload manageable alongside your studies.

Yes. You are still eligible to apply even if you are not a Leiden University student, provided that you are currently studying in The Hague.

Absolutely. If you were not selected in a previous project cycle, you are more than welcome to apply again. Previous application outcomes do not affect future applications.

As a Consultant, you will work in a small, multidisciplinary team on a real project for an external client. Projects typically run for several months, usually around three.
As a consultant, you will:
Conduct qualitative and quantitative research
Analyse problems and develop structured solutions
Collaborate with your team to deliver clear, actionable recommendations
Present findings to both peers and clients
Gain exposure to consulting methodologies and professional standards

Team Leads take on additional responsibility by guiding a project team and acting as the main point of contact between the team, and the executive board.
As a Team Lead, you will:
Coordinate team meetings and workflows
Support and guide consultants throughout the project
Ensure project goals and deadlines are met
Help shape the strategic direction of the project
